11 months old!

Our little Lando is 11 months old now, just a month away from a full year of life. Kinda hard to believe. We had his checkup right before we left for the DR and he was about 27 1/4 inches long and 20 lbs 14 oz. He is walking using one hand for balance and cruises all over furniture. He doesn't seem to be interested yet in trying to walk by himself but I'm sure it is in his near future. He says "ma ma" and "da da" pretty consistently but "da da" is definitely his favorite to say. He also this week started to say "pa pa" which could be his interpretation of Papi (the dominican name for a dad). He drinks out of a sippie cup but its not his favorite yet and we have switched his "bobo" (pacifier) and blanky time to only when he is getting ready to sleep. We hope to have him weined of his bobo by a year or a little after and his bottle by 15 months. We'll see how that goes.

He is such an incredible baby and we enjoy him so much everyday. This summer will be a little weird as we will see him less throughout the day because we'll be working with teams...but my best friend Yajaira will be watching him 8-5pm Monday-Friday and that's just as good, in my eyes, as us being with him. She's an incredible woman.

Anyway, enjoy the photos of our growing little man.

10 months old!

Unbelievable that another month has gone by, but it's true. Our little man is 10 months old and growing up on us. He is a crawling MANIAC now and we can't get anything done for more than 2 minutes before he is into something. He is incredibly mischievious and one of his favorite games to play is "I'm gonna get you." He waits until he catches your eye and then takes off crawling until you say, "I'm gonna get you" (in your crazy monster voice) and he crawls faster, giggling the whole way, until you grab him. It's hysterical to watch and even more fun to play. He is just a blast.

He is now about 27 inches long and 20 lbs. 8 oz. He has a pretty clean bill of health and hasn't really gotten sick once in 10 months. Lando now has 8 teeth...that's right 8 teeth! He looks a little like a baby shark. haha. He is cruising all over furniture, standing on his own for about 5 seconds before falling down and all he wants to do is have you help him walk. I fear the inevitable that walking is in his near future. WATCH OUT WORLD.

Musician???

Lando's latest fascination is with Daddy and his guitar.  He adores music and kinda dances along when he hears it.  He even stops whatever he is doing whenever he hears the theme song for "Friends," and just smiles the whole time the song is on.  So, I couldn't help but snap these photos when Lando decided he wanted to play the guitar with Daddy.  It was so precious and he was SO serious the whole time, almost like he was really concentrating on playing.  Who knows...maybe we have a little musician on our hands!

We caved!

We finally gave in and got Lando a swimming pool and he absolutely loves it.  I think he just likes being naked.  It was only like $7 at the grocery store and as much as Landon loves water, we just couldn't resist.  He goes in for only like 15-20 minutes but it's a blast to watch him explore and play with toys while in there.

Daddy come play with me...

Look at his little batoosh.... :)

I'm gonna splash you mommy....

This is the look of a baby having way too much fun!

Something in the Water?

Raena                Landon                Tony              Sophie

"Is that Tim's son?"  I wish I had a dollar for every time I've heard that phrase.  But Landon's not the only one.  The other two girls in this pic are the daughters of some of our other missionaries, Jeff and Vicki.  It's getting a little scary how much all of our children look alike but we can assure you there's no funny business going on.  Although, all these kids were conceived in the Dominican Republic, so maybe there's something in the water.....

Naptime

My new favorite pastime is finding moments like this.  I got home from my walk today to my sleeping boys.  The funny thing is, it was only 10 a.m.  Not a bad day when you're already napping at 10.

New Toy=Laundry Basket

Do you think this look is any indication of his future mischievousness?

My Little Rastafarian....

All he needs are some dreads and some Bob Marley in the background.

Swimming in a Tub

I don't know if it's all babies or just Lando, but he LOOOOOOOVES water. Lately, we've been putting him out on our porch in his little baby bathtub, giving him some toys and just watching his face light up. It is so much fun to witness such a simple pleasure. Nothing special, just a tub and some water.

I love water!!!!!

More pictures of me please!

Consentrating...very hard...on getting the water EVERYWHERE!

I didn't do it, I swear

Yay!!!!!!!!!!

Uh Oh...She caught me!

The Many Faces of Landon

The last couple days, Lando has been so super cute. Mike and I have been able to get some awesome quality time in with him. Here's some great pics of our little guy.
